Antitrust starts investigation into Apple’s position on app market
MOSCOW, Aug 8 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service has initiated a market dominance abuse case against gadget producer Apple over its operations on the market of applications for the iOS operating system, the authority said in a statement on Thursday.
The case was initiated on a claim of antivirus maker Kaspersky after Apple had rejected its Kaspersky Safe Kids parental control application. In the latest iOS 12 operating system, Apple launched its own parental control application Screen Time which capabilities are almost similar.
According to media reports, cited by the service, Apple had rejected similar parental control solutions developed by 11 companies around the world.
The service will consider the case on September 13.
